Every year the review journal Current Opinion In Plant Biology (COPB) devotes one issue to Biotic Interactions. This year two CBSG researchers were invited to contribute. Guido van den Ackerveken and his co-worker Joost Stassen focus their review on oomycete effectors and how they interfere with plant life. Bart Thomma together with his co-worker Ronnie de Jonge and a collaborator from the USA summarize the ins and outs of fungal effectors.
